In this video Kuimeaux (KEE-mo) talks about his Mind’s House II painting, which he gifted to his old friend Dean Lottinger, in Sherman, Texas. The concept of a house as a symbol of the mind has been explored by psychologists and writers. That concept was the inspiration of a painting Kuimeaux titled Mind’s House that he created in 1975 and sold to First Commercial Bank of Little Rock (now operated as part of Regions Bank). Some years later Kuimeaux revisited the subject and painted Mind’s House II. He once remarked about the imagined house in this painting: “That’s where I’m going when I die.”
This video was produced in 2023 from footage shot in 2015 in Sherwood, Arkansas at the home of Kuimeaux’s sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Dan McInturff. It is presented in loving memory of Kuimeaux.
